Man ends up in hospital with vitamin D overdose

What happens if you take vitamin D tablets three times a day for several weeks? You come to the hospital. A Briton who actually wanted to improve his health made this painful experience.
- Among other things CNN reports that after seeing a nutritionist, the man was taking more than 20 supplements a day – including 375 times the recommended amount of vitamin D.
- Within a month he was suffering from nausea, abdominal pain, diarrhea, vomiting, leg cramps and ringing in his ears.
- Two months later, he was admitted to the hospital with a vitamin D overdose, almost 13 kilograms lighter. Of the Report appeared in the medical journal “BMJ Case Reports”.
