He passed away from our world in the early hours of Monday morning, the Egyptian lyricist Nasser Al-Gil, after a sudden heart attack, at the age of 48.
And the poet’s official page announced the news of his death with a post in which he wrote the following: “We belong to God and to Him we shall return.. Professor Nasser Al-Jil has passed away to the mercy of God, and the funeral will be held this afternoon in Faisal, Giza Governorate..and I do not see you hated by God in your dear ones.”
The lyric poet Bahaa El-Din Muhammad mentioned that his late colleague was under great nervous pressure during the recent period, as he mourned him on his Facebook page by saying: “The respected artist-poet Nasser Al-Jil, may God have mercy on him, forgive him and pardon him, and this is the end of psychological and nervous pressure.” .
Producer Hani Mahrous also wrote on his page on the social networking site “Facebook”: “My heart ached for you, my friend, a thousand mercy and light upon you, Nasser Al-Jil.”
Who is Nasser Al-Gil?
Nasser Al-Gil is a poet and lyricist, born in the Egyptian governorate of Giza, on March 17, 1975. He collaborated with the most prominent singing stars in the Arab world, including Hani Shaker, Mustafa Kamel, Asala, Ragheb Alama, Ihab Tawfiq, Mustafa Qamar, Angham, Nawal Al-Zoghbi and Rami Ayyash.
The late poet also wrote for different generations of Arab singers, in addition to being the only poet whose words were sung by the artist Mustafa Kamel, currently the captain of musicians in Egypt.
Among his most prominent songs he wrote were “Kol Laila” sung by Hani Shaker in 2007, “Hatah Mina” by Ihab Tawfiq in 2008, “Bua’adak” in 2012, “Ma Bahzrash” in 2015, by Ragheb Alama, and “I Tolerated a Lot.” In the same year, by Mustafa Kamel, and “A Strange Case” in 2016 by Mustafa Qamar, and “Shame on You” by Nawal Al-Kuwaiti in 2017.
Asala also sang from his writings, “Haja Matkhasakash” in 2019, in addition to many songs that he wrote and influenced the Egyptian and Arab singing scene.
