The executive bodies and field follow-up in the southern region of Cairo Governorate continue to carry out demolition works in a number of areas in order to transfer their residents to new areas.

Removal of sugar, lemon, gypsy and gypsy monsters

The latest efforts to clear the areas of: Sugar and Lemon, Al-Jayara, and Hosh Al-Ghajar resulted in the eviction and partial demolition of 7 properties with a total of 19 eligible families.

This brings the total of the properties that were vacated in the aforementioned areas to 296 properties out of a total of 520 properties, the implementation of the total demolition of 149 properties, and the transfer of 950 deserving families out of a total of 1660 families scheduled to be relocated.

The removal of sugar and lemon areas, Hosh Al Ghajar, and Al Jayara comes as a continuation of the efforts of the state and the southern region to develop all unsafe and dangerous areas.

Residents of the areas are transferred to the El Khayala Compound, which overlooks Lake Ain Al Hayat and a number of archaeological areas, near the Museum of Civilizations, and the Equestrian Club.

Removal of the gebkhana in ancient Egypt

The latest real estate removal works in the Jabkhana area in the Old Cairo district resulted in the demolition of 24 properties and the evacuation of 29 properties out of a total of 41 properties, with 114 eligible families out of a total of 311 families scheduled to be transferred during the coming period.

All eligible families will be evacuated and housed in parallel with the evictions and transferred to the city of “Al Mahrousa” in the Al-Salam Thani neighborhood, which the state established as an alternative to slums and unsafe areas.

The “Al-Mahrousa 1 and 2” project in the Al-Nahda area of ​​Al-Salam City, east of Cairo, includes 4,913 housing units, in addition to a hospital, school complex, gardens, commercial and cultural centers, houses of worship, homes for orphans, the elderly and people with special needs, and an area for workshops and craftsmen.
