In an interview with the Canadian magazine “Hello”, Claudette confirmed that her sister Celine is trying everything she can to recover because she is a strong woman, but her disease is very rare and doctors know little about it.
She continued, “Celine gets cramps that are impossible to control, just like the cramps that you might hit your leg in your sleep, which cause terrible pain. It’s something like that, but it happens to all the muscles in her body,” she added, adding, “We are tired because we are unable to relieve her pain.” We hope that scientists will find a cure for this terrible disease.”
Stiff person syndrome is a rare, progressive neurological disorder that causes muscle stiffness in the trunk, arms, and legs, and affects 1 in 1 million people, according to the National Institutes of Health.
