The doctor spoke about the coming diseases of spring

“Beriberi, infectious diseases, gastrointestinal tract and depression are getting worse”

“As a doctor, I can say that vitamin deficiencies, infectious diseases, vegetative-vascular dystonia, gastrointestinal diseases, depression, and at the end of spring, when everything begins to bloom, allergies are exacerbated,” says Alfiya Zufarova, an infectious disease doctor of the highest category.

In addition, in the spring, against the background of vitamin deficiency, temperature changes, the transition to lighter, sometimes unsuitable clothing, chronic infections, herpes, viruses are more often exacerbated and colds become more active.

At this time, the doctor recommends taking into account temperature changes in the street and dressing according to the weather, you also need to strengthen your immune system. Spring mood swings, dissatisfaction with oneself and others is due to disruptions in biorhythms that occur with an increase in the length of daylight hours. You need to move more, be on the street, adjust nutrition and sleep patterns.

“Virus and flu season is ending”

Lyubov Avdonina, deputy head of the Rospotrebnadzor Department for the Republic of Tatarstan, said that the season of viral, respiratory infections and influenza is ending in Tatarstan. Influenza B dominates the structure today.

“Today, among non-influenza viruses, the RS virus comes first, followed by rhinovirus and metapneumovirus,” Avdonina said.

Alfiya Zufarova confirmed that the incidence of influenza is declining, but it is too early to write off group B influenza.

“In general, each influenza subtype has its own characteristics – influenza A often gives complicated forms with laryngotracheitis – an inflammatory lesion of the mucous membranes of the larynx and trachea, and tracheobronchitis – inflammation of the bronchi, trachea and bronchioles, which leads to bronchitis or pneumonia. With influenza B, a high temperature and intoxication are prolonged, namely, more than five days, ”she says.

If a person gets sick with the flu, then he needs to establish his type with a doctor.

“Virus typing is essential. Firstly, in order to know from the outside which organs to expect complications, and secondly, it is necessary to predict the migration of viruses in order to create a vaccine, ”says Zufarova.

“Avian influenza is not yet transmitted from person to person, but such a scenario is possible”

Concerns about bird flu arose from the WHO. Experts have raised concerns about the bird flu mutation. Scientists say it can be passed from person to person. Deputy Head of the Department of Rospotrebnadzor for the Republic of Tatarstan Lyubov Avdonina commented on the situation in the republic.

“To date, no cases of bird flu infection have been registered in Tatarstan, but there have always been concerns. Indeed, the virus mutates, there are fears of its species transition to humans. Whenever cases of bird flu occur among animals, birds, we work it out together with veterinarians. Employees of the poultry processing industry and those who have their own farmstead are vaccinated annually,” the speaker said.

Avdonina also added that today there is no “hot fear”, given that the vaccination has been carried out in the proper amount. Prevention measures are known to people who work with birds, this is the same as measures against influenza and acute respiratory infections. The situation is stable, calm and we do not expect fears.

“Influenza A virus also includes avian influenza (H5N1), the possibility of spread of which is relevant. It has been known since 1996, the first cases of infection were in 1997 in China. It has been registered in Europe since 2004,” says doctor Alfiya Zufarova.

In Russia, the first outbreaks of bird flu were detected in 2005. In the summer of 2005 – in Kazakhstan, Mongolia and China, in Turkey. At the same time, in Croatia and Romania, the emergence of the virus in Europe among domestic and wild birds was announced, which was a harbinger of its spread by July 2006 to 26 European countries.
Bird flu is susceptible to all types of birds, both wild and domestic and ornamental. Among wild birds, it is more often asymptomatic. But in the home it can cause severe forms and death.

“Infection of both humans and poultry occurs through close contact with infected and dead wild or poultry. Infection occurs when eating insufficiently thermally processed meat, through water, dirty hands, airborne droplets and airborne dust, ”the expert added.

The incubation period ranges from several hours to five days. The disease begins acutely – with a high temperature, accompanied by chills, body aches, muscles, headache. At the initial stage, repeated vomiting, loose stools are possible. After 2-3 days, difficulty breathing appears, the cough is clear at first, and later – with an admixture of streaks of blood. The virus is dangerous because it can lead to pneumonia very quickly, and in addition, it can cause severe complications in the heart and kidneys, and affects the brain.

“Avian flu is not yet transmitted from person to person. But given the variability of influenza viruses, such a scenario is possible. And that will be a big problem. Therefore, in scientific circles, they are already beginning to develop both diagnostic tests and a vaccine. For personal hygiene, it is necessary to wash hands, heat poultry meat well, and avoid contact with suspicious and dead birds. And people involved in the breeding and sale of birds must comply with sanitary and veterinary rules, ”concluded Zufarova.
