The documentary “VOEV” will be broadcast on May 7 and 12 in Burgas

“VOEV” – the first full-length documentary about the emblematic poet and musician Dimitar Voev, returns to Burgas. It can be seen on May 7 at 6:30 p.m. at the Mall Gallery, as well as on May 12 at 7 p.m. at the NHK Culture House.

The film masterfully revives, with emotion and taste, the memory of Dimitar Voev – musician, poet, creator, one of the most emblematic representatives of the informal cultural wave in Bulgaria from the late 80s and early 90s of the 20th century. Founder, vocalist and bassist of the band “Nova Generatsia”, he left this world too young, at the age of 27. His band inspired and strongly influenced several generations of music fans in our country, and Voev’s lyrics and his musical style seem to be ahead of their time In 2022, the citizens of Burgas had the opportunity to enjoy the festival screenings of the film at two key film festivals in the city – the anniversary edition of the Sofia International Film Fest at the Coast, as well as the Burgas International Film Festival. winner of the 2022 Best Bulgarian Documentary Award, the Best Directorial Debut Award at the Master of Art Film Festival, as well as the Audience Award at the Rhodope International Film Festival.The film received 6 nominations for this year’s Union of Bulgarian Filmmakers “Vasil Gendov”, including for Best Documentary – with producer Valeria Stoikova and MatchPoint Productions, for Best Documentary Debut – for director Bilyana Kirilova and for Best Script for Documentary – for Bilyana Kirilova and Neda Milanova.
