The Dropkick Murphys from Boston at Haus Auensee in Leipzig

Punk, party, pogo and politics: The Dropkick Murphys with three supporting bands in Leipzig’s Haus Auensee.

Leipzig. The fact that Boston folk-punk kings Dropkick Murphys visit Haus Auensee for their exuberant concerts has a reliable regularity. Before their performance, however, the tour organizers have set three supporters.

The resulting early start makes folk songwriter Jesse Ahern, with his tales of the rough life of a lone wolf in search of love, become more of an inlet soundtrack. It’s getting fuller with the Berlin Oi! hard rockers from Toxpack. Aggressive sound and the same kind of lyrics echo through the initially still comfortably attentive hall. For many, the evening really begins with Booze & Glory. The London Oi! Band hides rousing anthemic streetpunk melodies and powerful live presence behind their clichéd flat band name.
