Egyptian artist Yousra expressed her happiness with the tradition established by the Red Sea International Film Festival of honoring Egyptian female artists for all of their artistic works, during the opening of each session of the festival, usually “in appreciation of Egyptian art.” She pointed out that she was honored in the second session of the festival, in addition to honoring Laila Alawi in the first session, and finally honoring the artist Nabila Obaid in the third session.
In her interview with Asharq Al-Awsat, Yousra expressed her happiness at honoring the artist Nabila Obaid at the third session of the Red Sea International Film Festival, and granting her the “Al-Yusr Award for Artistic Creativity,” adding: “Nabila Obaid is an honor and pride for Egyptian art, and we as artists are proud to honor her at the Red Sea Festival.” ». The Egyptian artist praised the activities of the third session of the Red Sea Film Festival, and said, “Saudi brilliance is not limited to organizing festivals and presenting a wonderful artistic session this year, but there is a remarkable development at all artistic and cultural levels.” She congratulated Saudi Arabia for organizing Expo 2030, saying: “The Kingdom has all the capabilities that make it present a distinguished exhibition.”
She added: “I support the emergence of new film festivals in the Arab region, because cinema is the conscience of society, and it is the art on which many generations have been raised, and it discusses and translates all the human feelings that we experience in our lives.” She continued: “I remember when I was young, I used to go to the cinema. “I find Indian, American, and Egyptian films in theaters, but unfortunately the number of Egyptian films has decreased now.”

Regarding the reason for the lack of Egyptian cinematic production currently, Yousra says: “Egypt used to produce dozens of films per year, but the current economic crisis has a significant impact on the decline in production in Egypt.” She promised that the costs of a single film “have begun to require astronomical numbers, which is something that no producer can afford.”
Regarding her participation in the 2024 Ramadan drama race, she said: “Until now the picture is not clear to me. I cannot announce my exit from the race, nor can I confirm my participation in it. I have a number of ideas and scenarios, but I have not determined my destination yet.”
Regarding the show date of her series “Rose and Laila,” she said: “During my participation in the Red Sea Film Festival, I went to the MBC platform located in the festival market, in order to talk about the show date of the series, and I am eager to know the audience’s opinion about it.”
The Egyptian artist denied that there was any disagreement with producer Gamal El Adl that would make her refuse to work with him again, and she said: “The public and the media have no idea about my relationship with producer Gamal El Adl and the El Adl family. I may disagree with Gamal El Adl on the professional level, but Gamal and his family are my second family. His company is my company. We have achieved dozens of artistic achievements together, and we will remain a family no matter what happens.” She continued: “I am part of that company, and it is part of my artistic life.”
Yousra commented on the idea of using artificial intelligence in artistic projects, saying, “It has pros and cons, but I think it has more disadvantages, because some have become easier to use. Perhaps artificial intelligence provides a good product, but it is without soul or feeling.”
