It was a campaign promise made by Emmanuel Macron in 2022. After long months of preparation, the States General of Information are finally on track. The Elysée announced Thursday the creation of a steering committee made up of five independent personalities whose work will begin in September.
The fight once morest “fake news”, the rise of artificial intelligence, interference, manipulation, changes in consumption practices, new economic constraints… in the face of all the disruptions that are upsetting the media, “new balances must necessarily be found” to guarantee free, independent and reliable information, says a press release from the Presidency of the Republic.
