The Emir of Kuwait and the Prime Minister of Iraq discuss supporting relations and the situation in Gaza

Saudi Arabia – The Emir of Kuwait, Mishaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and the Prime Minister of Iraq, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, discussed yesterday, Sunday, ways to support relations and the situation in the Gaza Strip.

This came during a meeting in Saudi Arabia on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum, which will be held today and tomorrow, Monday, in Riyadh, according to two official sources in the two countries.

The Kuwait News Agency reported that the meeting witnessed “a review of the good relations between the two countries and the two brotherly peoples, ways to support and develop them, and the latest developments on the regional and international arenas.”

The media office of the Iraqi Prime Minister explained, in a statement, that the meeting “discussed bilateral relations between the two countries, and ways to develop and advance them, for the benefit of the two brotherly peoples.”

The two sides pointed out the importance of this being done by “investing in the historical and social neighborhood that links Iraq and Kuwait, and emphasizing the importance of maintaining good-neighborly relations and mutual respect.”

He explained, “The meeting discussed the latest developments in the region, especially what is happening in the Gaza Strip in terms of the ongoing Zionist aggression that has caused thousands of martyrs and wounded, and the importance of taking a unified Arab position in order to end the tragedies of the Palestinian people.”

Since October 7, 2023, Israel has been waging a devastating war on the Gaza Strip, leaving tens of thousands of civilian victims, most of them children and women, in addition to an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe and massive infrastructure destruction, which led to Tel Aviv appearing before the International Court of Justice on charges of “genocide.”

Israel continues its war despite the issuance of an immediate ceasefire resolution by the Security Council, and despite its appearance before the International Court of Justice on charges of committing “genocide.”
