Israel – The Israeli army announced yesterday, Monday, that two officers were killed and two others were moderately injured in the explosion of a building in which they were staying near the “Netzarim” barracks in the central Gaza Strip.

The army said in a statement under the heading “permitted to publish”: “The Israeli army spokesman’s office allowed to publish that the fighters, Sergeant Ido Aviv from Kiryat Yam and Sergeant Kalkidan Mahri, were killed yesterday in an explosion in a building in which they were staying near the Netzarim corridor in the northern Gaza Strip.”

The statement added: “Two other fighters were moderately injured and were evacuated by helicopter to the hospital to receive medical treatment.”

On Sunday evening, the “Al-Qassam Brigades” announced that a large Israeli force had been lured into an ambush of mines prepared from Israeli missiles that were dropped on Gaza but did not explode, on Al-Sikka Street in the Al-Mughraqa area in the central Gaza Strip.

Yesterday evening, Israeli media channels circulated news about the occurrence of a difficult security incident and the transfer of dead and wounded soldiers from the vicinity of the Netzarim barracks in the central Gaza Strip, north of Al-Mughraqa.

Since the beginning of the ground operation in Gaza last October 17, about 263 Israeli army soldiers have fallen, and since the beginning of the war on October 7, 2023, a total of 607 soldiers have fallen.
