The government of Kunshan City, Jiangsu Province, China announced on the 1st that from the 2nd to the 6th, the city will implement measures such as nucleic acid testing, transportation suspension and control, enterprises to reduce production, and work from home. Kunshan is an important town for Taiwanese factories, Xinxing (3037-TW), Taiwan Optoelectronics (2383-TW) and other Taiwan factories have announced a shutdown.
The Kunshan Municipal Government has comprehensively upgraded the epidemic prevention and control measures, adopted village and community inspection-style management, strengthened personnel and traffic control, and minimized the impact of the epidemic with the fastest speed and greatest effort. At present, there are 20 closed areas and 23 control areas. The closed area strictly implements “area closed, stay at home”, and the control area strictly implements “no one in the area, no gatherings”.
According to the Kunshan Municipal Government, 5 cases were confirmed in the city on the 1st, and 39 local cases have been accumulated since March 10. As of the evening of the 2nd, Kunshan had 1,107 direct contacts, 1,286 regular contacts, and 1,027 general contacts.
Kunshan is an important production center for Taiwanese factories. At present, Xinxing has announced that due to local policies, the two subsidiaries will temporarily suspend work until the 6th. Taiwan Optoelectronics, Yisheng (5243-TW), Juding (6224-TW) , superb (2070-TW), Shanghua (4738-TW), Dingxuan (8499-TW), Lianzhi (3585-TW), Yinghui (3523-TW) local subsidiaries also announced a shutdown.
