In the joint debate on the “reform of the energy and electricity markets” in the Plenary Session of the European Parliament in Brussels, the European Parliamentary Group of the KKE intervened.
In his speech, the MEP of the party, Lefteris Nikolaou-Alavanos, stated, according to relevant information, the following:
“The 4 directives that the European Parliament is debating are indicative of the EU’s unpopular priorities in relation to the energy and electricity market.
In the context of the European Union’s liberalization of energy, electricity, which is a market product, the financial tools are being adjusted so that the reinforcement of RES, natural gas and hydrogen groups can continue seamlessly with huge amounts of funds that come from the sweat of the people, in conditions of uncertainty in the capitalist economy and escalation of the imperialist war in Ukraine.
These are the causes that lead popular households to despair, due to the high price of electricity and the unbearable precision in food and in general in the items of popular consumption, which dissipate the popular income before the middle of the month arrives.
But that’s why the ear of the EU, of the parties that support its unpopular choices, doesn’t sweat.”
“On June 9, the people have a choice. To blacken the EU and the bourgeois parties that blacken his life. To give even greater strength to the KKE, to strengthen the current of questioning the barbaric policy of the EU, economic groups and civil parties, putting in the center its own modern needs” stressed L. Nikolaou-Alavanos, concluding his intervention.
