The expensive Honor Magic V2 – iPon is coming to Europe with Porsche

Honor wants to achieve a strong European role, and that is why the company is present with an increasingly wide range of products, for example in the Hungarian market. And little by little, we may even understand that a foldable smartphone from the company will be available in this region, because so far such a step has not taken place.

Almost half a year ago, Honor announced that the Magic V2 foldable mobile phone, which it had presented earlier, would be available in Europe. The device originally debuted last year, in the middle of summer, and at the IFA 2023 event, the company talked about the device heading to Europe. The first kits could have been brought on foot as it just got here, but it’s finally here and so we already know how much the structure will cost.

The beauty of the Magic series appeared in Europe at a suggested retail price of 2,000 euros.

The smartphone will currently be available in Hungary as well, but we still have to wait a little longer for the official launch. The device can now be ordered in Germany, France, Spain, Italy and the United Kingdom. The mobile phone starts everywhere in a single version, it can be obtained with 16 GB of system memory and 512 GB of storage capacity.

To this day, it is quite difficult for people to trust foldable devices, and Honor is aware of this, which is why it decided to give the mobiles a free Magic Care+ service, which means that the display will be replaced once for free. Of course, the company communicates that it will have no problems even with years of active use. The Magic V2 is certified by SGS, and the panel endured 400,000 drives during the tests. It is not known how the company deals with damage to the mechanics, because otherwise, it is more typical that failures occur first at the hinge, and not at the screen.

Honor has put the world’s lightest foldable mobile phones on the table. Depending on the design, the Magic V2 weighs 1 gram less than the Galaxy S24 Ultra, and its thickness is around 10 millimeters, even with the fact that there are two screens here, one outside and one inside. a 7.92-in. Both displays use LTPO AMOLED technology and support 120 Hz operation. Android 13 is still running on the device, but it will be updated to Android 14 and customers can expect many software improvements.

The device also provides three proper cameras, it has a 50MP primary imager, a 20MP solution for zooming (2.5x), and another 50MP with ultra-wide-angle optics. The Magic V2, which enables 4K60 video recording, uses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 system chip. In addition, it houses a battery with a capacity of 5,000 milliampere hours, so even its operating time is outstanding in its kind, and since it can be charged with 66 watts, it recharges faster than many of its rivals.

Honor kept the European interested parties waiting for a long time, but also provided at least one piece of good news: the Magic V2 RSR Porsche Design model will also be available in the region. This device was announced by the company in the first half of January, together with the news that Porsche Design will be a permanent partner in the future, and that such special editions can also be expected from other devices.

There was no word on when the special edition will be in stores, but we trust that we won’t have to wait months again for that. The hardware itself is not fresh anyway, thanks to significant delays compared to the Chinese launch. The special feature of the Honor Magic V2 RSR Porsche Design is, for example, that its back panel is in principle made of the same fiberglass material as the outer casing of sports cars.
