In Washington Forum this week: the transition in Chad extended by two years. General Mahamat Deby Itno was sworn in on Monday as president of a 24-month transition after which he will be able to stand as a presidential candidate. This is one of the main conclusions of the inclusive and sovereign national dialogue which ended over the weekend, in the absence of a good part of the opposition and civil society who denounce a “dynastic succession” of the power. How to analyze the extension of this transition in Chad? What will be the projects of the government of national unity promised by President Deby?
