The jute bags containing the cocaine were marked with a blue cross and were roughly sewn by hand, describes the public prosecutor. A total quantity of 500 kg of cocaine had traveled in a maritime container having left Santos, Brazil, on March 21, 2022 to arrive in Antwerp, Belgium, on April 14, 2022.

The container was then transported by train to Romont, where it arrived on the night of April 30, 2022 and put on hold to be unloaded on May 2, 2022. Previously, the maritime container had been sealed on March 7, 2022 in Brazil , then taken to the port of Santos, the press release specifies.
The investigation was therefore unable to determine where, when and how the cocaine was introduced into the bags, before they were loaded into the maritime container. The drug had a purity rate of 88%.
