The fate of Jeanick Fournier in the hands of the public at Canada’s Got Talent

Jeanick Fournier went straight to the semi-final with a golden button.

The judges instead selected singer Stacey Kay and magician Savio Joseph for the final which will take place on May 17.

Two other finalists, out of the remaining seven, will be chosen in public voting.

She was the last to perform during the broadcast live, a bit like the American version, which often saves for the end the performances that are most likely to mark the viewers.

Wearing a red dress, the singer was visibly emotional and upbeat as she performed the song Never Enoughfrom the movie The Greatest Showman.

What incredible control and powercommented after her performance judge Jason Priestley who wondered why she didn’t already have a place in Las Vegas.

Jeanick Fournier has long been well known in Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean, particularly for her interpretations of Celine Dion’s songs. She works as a beneficiary attendant and is the adoptive mother of two children with Down syndrome.

She recently received a tribute medal from the National Assembly, supported by a video of Prime Minister François Legault, during a show in Saguenay.

Sébastien Savard eliminated

Earlier in the show, Sébastien Savard’s dream, who had participated in the other semi-final, has ended. The violinist turned tightrope walker, originally from Roberval, was not one of the two participants, out of seven, chosen by viewers. Singer Kellie Loder from Newfoundland and dance troupe Shadow Entertainment from Toronto were the crowd picks.
