The father of the medical student in the car shot says it was an “attempted murder”

OVIEDO, 25 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The father of the medical student who was inside the vehicle shot by the Oviedo Local Police has assured this Saturday that the intervention was “an assassination attempt”.

In statements to Europa Press, he maintains that the members of the vehicle, his daughter and her boyfriend, aged 19 and 20, are medical students, and had stayed to study. He also defends that the version provided by the City Council is “totally false” and “will be proven.” What happened, he has said, is that both students were inside the vehicle, and “two gentlemen” arrived asking them to identify themselves and carrying a license plate. The boy, the driver of the vehicle, “did not trust” that the plates were real and asked the agents to identify themselves, at that time raising the car window.

It was then that “the policeman jumped on the car to try to open the window”, and the boy got out with the car. When starting “the wheel grazed his leg” and that was when, according to the version of the girl’s father, the agent “shot three shots” at the car, one at the window pane, another at the fin, and another at the driver’s door.

After fleeing, the vehicle was intercepted in one of the Florida roundabouts by four other police cars. There, he recounts, “they dragged them out” and detained the driver. The young woman suffered an anxiety attack.

Her father explains that the National Police is taking charge of the investigation, and they have already called his daughter, who is not detained, to reconstruct the events at the scene and collect the necessary evidence to clarify the facts. He has also pointed out that “it is assumed” that the Local agents “started to search the car”, when the National Police assured the girl’s father that the Local “has no authority or power to search the car because they can disappear tests”.

“For me it has been an assassination attempt and it will be proven, there is the scientist with the car, we are going to see what she says about the car, if the shots were at the wheels as they say or at the door and the window,” he added.

“They are two children, they are not criminals, who go there to study, who eat and snack there while they study,” he defended, assuring that when the agent who shot him arrived at the Buenavista police station to give a statement, “he arrived ‘breaking up’ with laughter “. “I have seen the scoundrel,” she has assured. “The difference is that my son-in-law slept in the dungeons and this man left,” she lamented.
