A desolate road covered with Persian rugs and, right in the middle, a big threatening rock. Which elsewhere, creates a gaping hole in the bitumen. These disturbing shots make up the poster for the Film Festival and International Forum on Human Rights (FIFDH), whose 21st edition will open on March 10 in Geneva. Film images which “confront the expression of culture and civilization with tragic disasters”, explains Irène Challand, program director. It’s hard not to think of the stones and bricks that trapped the Turkish and Syrian peoples during the earthquake on February 6th.
