The “Africa Intelligence” website revealed that representatives of the coalition of fighters from the Darfur region of Sudan, who are in Libya, will travel to Niamey once more this week to finalize the agreement for the return of fighters to Sudan and their integration into the Sudanese Armed Forces.
The site added that this agreement is scheduled to be signed in Doha, noting that what he called the small emirate of gas has regained control of the negotiations that were launched under the auspices of the French non-governmental organization “Promediasion”.
The site stated that this last meeting in Doha may be a sign of the entry of a new player in these negotiations, namely Egypt, pointing out that the Qatari mediator wants Egypt, which has influence in the east of the country, to ratify the final agreement.
The website mentioned that the 5+5 Joint Military Committee agreed on a mechanism to ensure the departure of the Darfur fighters, indicating that these militias are using these negotiations to extricate themselves from the Libyan quagmire following their funding, especially from the UAE, stopped, according to the website.
