The first series-production Grenadier 4X4s for North America have begun to roll off the INEOS Automotive production line in Hambach, France.

The first US-bound Grenadier, a Belstaff Fieldmaster edition in Scotch White, rolled out of the quality inspection bay at the end of the line yesterday.

More than 7,000 orders have already been placed for the Grenadier in the US, making it INEOS Automotive’s largest market, and first customer deliveries will begin in November for the US and in January 2024 for Canadian buyers.

INEOS Automotive acquired the Hambach manufacturing facility from Mercedes-Benz in January 2021 and has subsequently invested more than €50 million in the Grenadier line which now includes a new semi-automated paint shop, a new fully automated body shop and a new quality center.

“The start of North American vehicle production is an important moment for INEOS Automotive, and for the Hambach plant in particular,” said Lynn Calder, CEO of INEOS Automotive.

“We have been increasing the production rate for the last six months to ensure we can deliver to customers as quickly as possible, while maintaining the world-class quality standards we set for ourselves. With the addition of North America, Hambach now produces for export to all five continents. The Grenadier is truly a car for the world.”

Headquartered in Raleigh, North Carolina, INEOS Automotive’s North American team will soon announce its first wave of designated dealers. The North American retail and service network will join a global INEOS Automotive presence in more than 40 markets, with customer deliveries having already begun in 20.

Greg Clark, executive vice president of INEOS Automotive for the Americas, said: “We have spent a lot of time selecting an exceptional team of experienced dealers and we are excited to soon be able to announce them and begin guiding Grenadier trucks home for our customers. .”
