Iga Świątek’s coach, Tomasz Wiktorowski, said right after the match that his charge will undergo an MRI and full diagnostics of the injured leg on Thursday morning. The best tennis player in the world finally spoke on social media and informed about what actually happened on the night from Wednesday to Thursday.

“Hi. You’re probably wondering what happened last night,” Swiatek began. “During the second set, I suffered a thigh injury and now the diagnosis is underway. We will have more information for you in the coming days” – announced the leader of the WTA ranking.

It is not known how serious the injury is and whether Iga Świątek will be able to take part in the Grand Slam Roland Garros. The French tournament starts in a week and a half, and the Polish woman was a definite favorite to win. She has already won twice on these courts, in 2020 and 2022.
