GIGABYTE unveils a new range of gaming monitors AORUS OLED during CES 2024 taking place in Las Vegas. In this new range is the first DP2.1 UHBR20 gaming monitor in the world. This range includes new models in 32″ 4K 240 Hzbut also 27″ 360 Hz or even a 34″ ultralarge 240 Hz. The flagship model is theAORUS FO32U2P which displays a sign QD-OLED of 32″a definition 4Ka refresh rate of 240 Hz and is even listed as including the DisplayPort 2.1 with apparently full bandwidth capacity UHBR20.

Before seeing more precisely the FO32U2P, here is a quick look at the entire new range of AORUS OLED screens:

  • AORUS FO27Q3 : 27″, 2560×1440, 360 Hz
  • AORUS FO32U2 : 32″, 3840×2160, 240 Hz, HDMI 2.1 FRL 12G connectivity
  • AORUS FO32U2P : 32″, 3840×2160, 240 Hz, DisplayPort 2.1 UHBR 20
  • AORUS MO34WQC : 34″, 3440×1440 (21:9), 240 Hz
  • AORUS MO34WQC2 : 34″, 3440×1440 (21:9), 240 Hz, 0,03 ms, 99% DCI-P3, curved

GIGABYTE AORUS FO32U2P: the screen that plays to who has the highest bandwidth!

This is therefore the new flagship model of GIGABYTE’s gaming branch. This screen offers a panel QD-OLED with a diagonal of 32″ (precisely 31,5″) coming from Samsung Displaywith a definition of 3840 x 2160 pixels and a refresh rate of 240 Hz. Many other displays have been announced using this same panel from Dell, MSI, Samsung and ASUS, but the key difference with the model fromAORUS is that they specifically list the DisplayPort 2.1 standard (with full UHBR20 bandwidth apparently) in their specs and announcement.

This would make it the first gaming monitor announced so far with the full bandwidth capacity of DisplayPort 2.1. Even the gigantic 57″ Samsung Odyssey G95NC with its dual 4K resolution and 240Hz refresh rate doesn’t use UHBR 20, as that model uses UHBR13.5. Of course, there are currently no mainstream graphics cards that support UHBR20, which will likely make testing and development of this display very difficult, and perhaps could delay the launch. The DisplayPort on the FO32U2P also supports Daisy Chain, simplifying multi-monitor setups with fewer messy cables.

This display also has a range of ‘Tactical’ gaming features, including a dedicated button to switch between different screen sizes and resolutions simulated for different gaming genres, including for example 24″ at 1080p for gaming competitive. Gigabyte also introduced its “OLED Care” measures, which are a suite of AI-driven solutions to address image retention issues on the OLED panel.

In terms of specifications, there is a response time specification G2G of 0,03 msa report of 1.5 million:1 contrasta range of colors DCI-P3 of 99% and certification below standard VESA DisplayHDR 400 True Black (not to be confused with HDR 400 for LCD screens).

On the other hand, the company has not provided a release date, but we expect it to launch during the first half of 2024. There is also a similar model, the FO32U2 which appears to be the same panel and the same features, with the exception of the DisplayPort 2.1 connection which would remain on DP 1.4.
