Le magazines Forbes published the ranking of the 10 richest people in the world. There are eight American entrepreneurs, a French luxury magnate and a Mexican telecommunications magnate.
Bernard Arnault, CEO of LVMH, ranks first with a fortune of
$215.1 billion. In January 2021, LVMH notably acquired the jeweler Tiffany & Co. for 15.8 billion dollars.
In 2nd position, we find Elon Musk with a fortune of 200.2 billion dollars. He is the CEO of electric car company Tesla, rocket company SpaceX and Twitter. He bought Twitter for $44 billion in October 2022 and owns around 74% of the company. Jeff Bezos is ranked 3rd with $143.3 billion in wealth. Jeff Bezos stepped down as CEO of e-commerce giant Amazon in July 2021, but remains its chairman.
Larry Ellison, with an estimated fortune of $132.2 billion, comes in 4th place. He co-founded the software company Oracle in 1977 and led it as CEO until 2014. He is now Chairman of the Board and Chief Technology Officer of the company.

Larry Page and Steve Balmer rank 7th and 8th. In 9th position comes Sergey Brinn with 99.1 billion dollars of fortune.
Finally, the Mexican Carlos Slim Helu occupies the 10th place in the ranking with 95.7 billion dollars. He and his family control América Móvil, the largest mobile telecommunications company in Latin America, present in at least 15 countries.
