The Prime Minister does not want “in any case to allow the virulent attacks once morest vaccination and the word freedom to be associated”, because “freedom is not that, I have already said it ten times, of contaminating others”, warned the head of government to the JT of France 2. “The right to demonstrate and to have an opinion are a constitutionally guaranteed right in our Republic and in our democracy. The right to block others or prevent coming and going is not,” he warned.
“I asked the Minister of the Interior, the prefect of police, to take measures not to block Paris as was, it seems, the intention of the demonstrators”, recalled Jean Castex. “If they block traffic or if they try to block the capital, you have to be very firm,” he insisted.
