Latvian rock band Z-Scars is taking a fresh approach to music releases, moving away from traditional albums in favor of a more fluid approach.Group soloist Andris Kivičs revealed to media outlets that while the band is indeed working on a new collection of songs, they’re opting for a series of single releases rather than a full-length album.

“The album will be,but … understand how the album is nowadays,” Kivičs explained. “Three songs have already been sounded. Its meant like a little album with six, seven songs. Half the songs are already sounding, will launch another song and then that The album will be released.” He went on to reflect on the changing dynamics of music consumption, stressing that the traditional album format no longer holds the same weight it once did. “In any case, the album represents the stage in its author’s life,” he remarked. “now no one wants to pay for it – recording the song in Latvia costs between 400 and 1000 euros, I don’t wont to pike for something that will not be cleared with a clip and on the radio.”

“We’re indeed working on a new collection of songs, but we’ve decided to release them as singles rather than a full-length album,” Kivičs began. “We’ve already shared three tracks, and our plan is to put out another couple before releasing the complete ‘album’—if you can call it that. It’s more like a little album with six or seven songs.

This approach allows us to keep our audience engaged and excited about new music continuously, rather than waiting for a full album release.”

Speaking of audience engagement, how do you see the dynamics of music consumption changing, particularly with the rise of streaming platforms?

“The album format doesn’t hold the same weight it once did,” Kivičs noted. “People want on-demand access to individual tracks now, and that’s something we’re eager to accommodate. Plus, recording a song in Latvia can cost between 400 and 1000 euros. I don’t want to sink money into something that might not get picked up by music clips or radio play.”

“Absolutely. We’re looking to make appearances on television shows, and we’re also focused on getting our music onto popular Spotify playlists,” Kivičs shared. “but most importantly, we’re eager to connect with our fans face-to-face.
