Technosphere Immaturity and Planetary Realities

Moving past abstract evolutionary debates, the modern incarnation of Gaia forces an uncomfortable reckoning with anthropogenic climate disruption. Autonomous planetary stabilization processes do not guarantee a safe harbor for humanity. Shifts in the Earth system can result in conditions favorable for some forms of life and disastrous for others.
