The game “The Sims 4” becomes free for all

Electronic Arts’ life simulator is going free-to-play.

A page is turning in the history of The Sims. The American publisher Electronic Arts has just announced the transition to the free-to-play format of its game The Sims, which will be available for free on all platforms from October 18th.

On that date, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series and Mac owners will be able to download it for free.

“Over the years, EA and Maxis have welcomed millions of players to The Sims and watched them in awe. These same players gave free rein to their imagination and shared their ideas, experiences and representations of themselves, both in game and in real life. As The Sims 4 is regarding to go free-to-play, the team is more committed than ever to creating new experiences, and will continue to develop The Sims Express packs, kits, and deliveries in the near future.” explains the publisher in a press release.

If the main game becomes free, the extensions will remain paid.
