It should be noted that according to the decision of the Georgian government, the export of wheat and barley was prohibited in Georgia from July 4, 2022 to July 4, 2023. The ban on barley was soon lifted. However, the ban on the export of wheat remained in force.

The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Otar Shamugia, said that there is no longer any danger in terms of food safety in the country, so the ban is no longer needed.
