Michelle Felton, 28, was recently banned from having any contact, of any kind, with her ex-boyfriend Ryan Harley for 18 months. She was also sentenced to 18 months of community service, along with 30 days of compulsory rehabilitation.
The young girl from Cheshire is said to have harassed the Harley victim by texting and called this man more than 1,000 times, after being told by him Break up. Although Harley has made it clear that she no longer wants to be involved with Michelle, she still tries to contact him, in order to save their 21-month relationship.
“Ryan Harley told Michelle that she wanted to end the relationship. He also stated that this is not a good relationship. But she did not consent to this, which led to the harassment,” prosecutor Arron Smith said. “From February 15 to February 26, 2022, this woman sent out a bunch of message. There are hundreds of messages sent every day, in addition to missed calls and messages that go unanswered.”
“Those are not threatening or harassing messages. Those are just the girl’s confessions about their relationship. She said she loved Ryan Harley very much, that she was hurt when the relationship ended and didn’t want to live anymore,” added Aaron. “She even sent pictures of herself and said he belonged to her.”
Harley said the fact that his ex-girlfriend often texted made him extremely uncomfortable. He also made it very clear that he didn’t want to continue dating her and wanted to find a way to “reset his life.”
Michelle simply ignored this and continued to send him messages like: “Why don’t you talk to me? I love you. Shall we meet tonight? Shall we hang out together?”
When this woman started arriving at Harley’s house unannounced, and leaving gifts at the door, Harley called the police and reported it. The 28-year-old woman has claimed responsibility for the harassment, as well as more than 1,000 text messages sent to Harley. But according to Michelle, Harley denounced her first just to avoid prosecution, for having physically abused her.
Specifically, Michelle’s defense attorney told the court that Harley had accidentally broken one of her fingers during one of their arguments. After convincing Michelle not to go to the hospital for a checkup, Ryan cut off all contact with this girl.
“It’s a sad love story, but you’re here no matter what,” Judge Alan Eyres told Michelle at sentencing. “We looked at whether she pleaded guilty as well as the fact that she had no prior criminal record. We really don’t want to see her again.”
