The Golden Globe Awards announced without the “Hollywood hype”

The films “The Power of the Dog” and “West Side Story” won the most prominent awards of the “Golden Globe” during a ceremony to distribute it, which witnessed a wide Hollywood boycott, during which the names of the winners were announced online, without television transmission and the presence of the stars on the red carpet.

The dark western, “The Power of the Dog,” by New Zealander Jane Campion, became the second film directed by a woman to win the Golden Globe Award for best drama. It also won Best Director for Campion and Best Actor in a Supporting Role for Cody Sumin McPhee.

As for Steven Spielberg’s new version of the movie “West Side Story”, it was awarded the award for best comedy film or musical comedy film, while its heroine Rachel Ziegler won the award for best actress in a comedy film, and the title of best actress in a supporting role went to Ariana Debos, in which she plays a role Anita played by Rita Moreno in the original film.

Will Smith won Best Actor in a Motion Picture Drama for his role in “King Richard,” while Nicole Kidman won Best Actress in “Being the Ricardos.”
