– The Grand Prizes for the economy awarded to three local companies
LEM, Amal Therapeutics and Jacquet SA were awarded prizes on Thursday evening at the Bâtiment des Forces Motrices.

At the end of the day on Thursday, the elite of Geneva’s economy and politics gathered at the Bâtiment des Forces Motrices for the distribution of the Grand Prix de l’Economie.
Awarded each year since 2012 by the Geneva Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services (CCIG), in partnership with the State of Geneva and the Office for the Promotion of Industries and Technologies, these awards aim to honor companies whose reputation and influence convey a positive and dynamic image of Geneva.
Electrical sensors
In total, four prizes were awarded during a ceremony with a precise program. That of the Geneva economy was awarded to LEM International. This company, which has 1,700 employees in more than fifteen countries around the world, including 250 in Geneva, is the world leader in electrical sensors.
Its technology is increasingly used in the field of renewable energies, such as wind power, or to develop electric cars.
The Innovation Prize was awarded to Amal Therapeutics, a small company developing innovative vaccines against colorectal and pancreatic cancer. A third vaccine, the research phase of which has just begun, aims to treat lung cancer.
Equality in the spotlight
As for the Equality Prize, it was awarded to the company Jacquet SA. This company, which was founded in 1907, is active in all areas of the exterior. It has 23 sectors of activity, ranging from the development of urban spaces and sports fields to tree care and forestry work. It was awarded an award for its human resources policy, particularly active in the field of equality.

Finally, a special prize was awarded to Klaus Schwab, founder and director of the World Economic Forum, for his career and his role in promoting Geneva around the world. The Director General of the CCIG highlighted the entrepreneurial and visionary qualities of the winner: “Geneva owes you a lot, Professor. You are one of our best ambassadors.”
Since their launch, the Economy Awards have already rewarded 28 companies. Last year, Spineart, a pioneer in spinal surgery, received the Geneva Economy Prize, Kugler Bimetal that of innovation for its system for laser deposition of innovative alloys, and the Moser School that of equality.
