The Hawks fail to chain

The Hawks can no longer chain victories in the NBA.

Winners of the Trail Blazers 129-111 on Friday in Atlanta, Clint Capela and his teammates were beaten 117-109 in Miami 24 hours later.

This defeat, the second in three games played under new coach Quin Snyder, gives the Hawks 50% wins this season (32-32). Still 8th in the Eastern Conference, Atlanta was however opposed to a team that remained on six defeats in its last seven outings.

But Miami, 7th in the East with 34 wins for 31 losses, could count on Bam Ademayo (30 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists) to make the difference. The Heat, above all, muzzled the Hawks’ All Star point guard Trae Young: he only scored 8 points (at 2/13 shooting), his lowest total of the season.

Clint Capela managed 16 points – thanks to an 8/10 shooting – and 13 rebounds, in 25 minutes spent on the Florida floor. But the Geneva pivot finished this game with a differential of -14, the second worst of his team behind Dejounte Murray (-17, in 36 ‘game).
