There are stars who use their accounts on social networks to promote their work and to show their luxurious trips to paradisiacal places, their spectacular mansions and the photographs that most favor them. Others don’t. Others decide, like many mortals, to use them to share different instances of their daily life, even those far from glamor and glitter. Brooke Shields belongs to the latter group, and this Thursday he excited his Instagram followers with a particular video.

After taking a breath to try, in vain, to calm down, the actress concluded: “Oh, it’s so hard! I miss her already. Our babies… you raise them to leave you”. His anguish has a reason: his eldest daughter, Rowan Francis Henchy, undertook his return to Wake Forest University in North Carolina. The 19-year-old, who is part of the Chi Omega brotherhood, is about to start her second year in the cloister.
“It was the worst thing I’ve ever experienced in my life,” Shields confessed in an interview in November of last year. However, she clarified that she expects her second daughter, Grier Hammond Henchy16, follow in her sister’s footsteps.
The actress, who became a star when she was just a child, was always aware of the importance of training academically. As such, she earned a bachelor’s degree in French literature from Princeton University in 1987, while her second husband and father of her daughters, Chris Henchy, earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of New Mexico.

Nevertheless, 2021 had one of the worst nightmares of her life in store for her, leaving her unable to walk for almost two months. At the end of January, and after returning from a paradisiacal vacation in Puerto Rico, Brooke was doing her intense exercise routine on a balance board when she lost her balance and fell on her right leg, breaking her femur..
The first thing that came to mind was the thought that she was paralyzed and fear for her life. “I just started screaming,” she told the magazine People in a hand-to-hand conversation. “He had never screamed like that, not even in childbirth. I felt how solid the impact had been,” she explained. “I don’t remember hearing anything, and the only thing I kept repeating over and over was that I could feel my toes, because I knew I couldn’t move but I wanted to make sure I wasn’t paralyzed.”
An ambulance arrived within minutes to take her to the hospital, where had emergency surgery to put a splint on your femur. The next day, the actress woke up to her screams after her bone came loose from her splint, prompting another operation.
As if that were not enough, Shields had to spend two weeks alone in the hospital, due to the Covid-19 restrictions that prevented her husband or daughters from visiting her. Once home, the protagonist of Suddenly Susan she developed an infection in her arm, right where the IV had been placed, and had to return to the hospital for emergency surgery a third time.
“Once fear settled in me, that’s when I started to falter,” he acknowledged about what he experienced after the last surgery. “I think I’ve never been more afraid, because I was helpless”.
Her daughters gave her the strength to focus on healing. “I had to be calm for them. My daughters came to ask me if I felt that I was going to die, ”she recounted. “There are so many things that could have happened… I feel lucky to be alive”, he expressed.
After two more weeks in the hospital, Shields was finally able to return home to begin the lengthy rehabilitation process. And, once again, on her social networks, the actress shared her day to day and the struggle to walk again and feel good.
