The highlights of yesterday’s Direct

Yesterday, Wednesday, a whole handful of dreams and wishes of the Nintendo fan community came true. There was some exciting news and updates at a 45-minute direct. Here are the highlights.

Next May the time has finally come and «Breath of the Wild» will have a sequel. The show featured plenty of new gameplay scenes from The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

A matching Collector’s Edition for the new Zelda game was also presented.

Also revealed at the Direct was the fourth of a total of six waves in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. So there are more routes here too, including “Yoshi’s Eiland”.

But that’s not all: With Birdo as a new playable character, Nintendo has a big surprise up its sleeve. The fourth wave of the DLC pack is scheduled to start later this year.

After the deluxe version of Pikmin 3 was released over a year ago, the next title will soon follow. Appropriately, there was also a first gameplay trailer for Pikmin 4 to see.

It’s supposed to be this summer. Pikmin 4 lands on the Nintendo Switch on July 21st.

Fans have been waiting for this for a long time. One of the most popular handheld consoles finally lands in the Nintendo Switch retro offering. From now on, a whole handful of well-known titles from the Game Boy and its sister models can be played here.

Cult classics like Tetris, Wario Land 3 or Metroid II are included here. But titles like Game & Watch Gallery 3 or Kirby’s Dream Land are also represented. Games such as the Pokémon Trading Card Game or Oracle games in the Zelda series will soon be added.
