The Kyrie Irving file continues to ignite conversations in the NBA community, as well as debates on US TV shows. A famous analyst has notably imagined an exchange which would see Uncle Drew join… the former land of welcome of LeBron James!
For the time being, it is impossible to know with certainty if he is really heading towards a departure, or if he is simply trying to raise the stakes vis-à-vis his contract extension. In any case, Kyrie Irving has been in all the rumors for a few days. Seemingly at odds with the Nets over his new lease, the star point guard could pack up his bags this summer and join another top team.
Kyrie Irving at the Heat? The proposed lunar deal
According to information from Adrian Wojnarowski, Kyrie would be ready to leave Brooklyn to join six specific franchises, among which is… the Heat. Logic, however, would like him to land on site to team up with the stars already in place, namely Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo. However, on the set of First Things FirstChris Broussard evoked a very different scenario, which would lead to the following trade:
Instead of forming a Big Three with Uncle Drew, Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo would therefore take the opposite path, while Ben Simmons would accompany the star point guard to Miami. On paper, it is difficult to understand the logic that would justify such a transfer to South Beach. Don’t worry, the explanations of the FOX Sports journalists are just as nebulous:
If I put myself in the Nets’ shoes, the first thing I ask of Miami, and the first name I include in negotiations, is Jimmy Butler. And you know what ? Since Ben Simmons was doing well with Jimmy in Philly, I would offer them this: Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo in exchange for Kyrie and Ben Simmons. What do you say to that? I would only start talking from there.
Heat fans must be having a hard time keeping up, and they’re not alone. Giving up the two major elements of the team to recover two players as unreliable as Kyrie and Simmons simply seems suicidal. Either way, Woj’ gives little credit to the lead sending Irving to Florida, since only one of its preferred destinations would be ready to welcome it !
The soap opera Kyrie Irving already seems to be hitting on the system of some American analysts, who are starting to consider ultra-improbable deals for the star leader of the Nets. Never Pat Riley would validate such madness!
