American pop singer Britney Spears has separated from her husband, who asked for a divorce after 14 months of marriage, US media reported Thursday.
Sam Asgari, 29, an American model and actor of Iranian descent, said he wanted to end his marriage due to “irresolvable differences,” according to the specialized TMZ website.
The couple separated after a violent quarrel, during which Asghari accused his wife of cheating on him, according to several American media outlets. The 41-year-old pop star married Asghari in June 2022, after a five-year relationship.

A month before their wedding date, the couple announced that Spears had miscarried.
The singer has two children, Sean and Jayden, with ex-husband Kevin Federline.
Spears, who will publish her memoir this fall, has made headlines in recent years. Because of her battle to get rid of her father’s guardianship, which was imposed on her in 2008 due to psychological disorders she suffered from.
Spears described the guardianship as “harmful”, noting in particular that her father prevented her from removing the IUD, despite her desire to have more children.
