The inflation rate in Italy declined in September

Data from the Italian Statistical Office (Istat) showed a new decline in the rate of consumer price inflation during the current month of September, reaching its lowest level in more than a year and a half, and it was in line with analysts’ expectations.
The statistics office stated that the inflation rate declined during the current month to 5.3% annually, compared to 5.0% last month.
Meanwhile, the inflation rate reached its lowest level since January 2022 when it recorded 4.8%. The data also showed a clear decline in the pace of rise in prices of non-energy commodities, processed foods, and durable goods.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose by 0.2% per month during the current September, while analysts had expected them to rise by 0.1%.
