“Gharam in Istanbul” achieved success in Turkey, and “Farid Shawky” was one of those enthusiastic about participating in Turkish cinema in production and acting, taking advantage of his artistic weight and his massive cinematic career. In 1968, the King of Tarso appeared in 6 Turkish films at once, and he was a contributor to many productions. Among them, in addition to his reliance on the Egyptian scriptwriter Abd al-Hay Adeeb in its authorship.

The first of these films was “Five Sexy Women” starring Turkish star Cünet Erkin and star Hulya Darcan. He appeared as a supporting actor. The second is the movie “Looking for a Bridegroom”. As for the third film, which is the most important, it is the movie “Jamila”, whose title was translated into “Othman Al-Jabbar”, and Farid Shawky co-starred with the Turkish star Murad Sweidan and the most important Turkish star at the time, “Hulya Kochet”.

The movie “Osman Al-Jabbar” achieved unprecedented success in Turkish theaters. Fareed Shawky became famous among the Turks specifically because of that movie, as a result of their admiration for his acting abilities as an “action” star, and the success of the screen monster because of “Osman Al-Jabbar” reached that he won the Golden Orange Award for best supporting actor in the 1969 Antalya Film Festival for his role in the movie. The first foreign actor to win the award in the most important festival in Turkey.

Farid Shawky has been presenting Turkish films for more than 10 years, and they have gained fame and wide spread in Turkey, equal to their counterparts in the Arab world.
