The investigation into Beppe Grillo and the Moby group closed, the accusation is of illicit trafficking of influences

The Milan prosecutor’s office closes the investigation which sees the historical leader of the 5 Star Movement under investigation, Joseph Grilloe Vincent Honoredpatron of the Moby group, both accused of illicit trafficking of influences.

In the background, the law of maritime territorial continuity, which gave 72 million a year to the Onorato group for ten years, but which since 2019 could no longer be guaranteed under a monopoly regime. The European directive of March 2019 in fact imposed that the sections be assigned with a public tender, in a competitive regime.

In 2021 six tenders were actually opened by the government, and the Onorato group won only one, the one for the connection between Genoa and Porto Torres. Since 2021, the company has therefore lost that substantial loan, a big problem for a group that already had a liability of 200 million and 350 million in debt (and which for this reason found itself in an arrangement with creditors).

According to the investigators, in the years preceding the opening of the market, Onorato would have paid Grillo – and also Casaleggio, for which however the archiving was requested by the prosecutors – to have a consultant linked to communication and the drafting of editorial articles, but which in reality, according to the thesis of the prosecutors led by Maurice Romanelli he was born in tax nucleus of the Gdf, hid lobbying activities. In fact, you would have pushed the members of your party to work to help Onorato. However, only they are under investigation, because for the others – on which there is maximum secrecy – the prosecution does not consider it necessary to proceed, having asked the investigating judge to dismiss them.

The money now being discussed in the notice of conclusion of the investigations amounts to 240 thousand euros (half for 2018 and half for 2019), promised and partially paid apparently as consideration for “partnership agreement” between Moby and Beppe Grillo.
