It’s a page turning for the pocket music industry…
It was announced, it is now over. After 21 years of exploiting the pocket digital music player market with its iPod Classic, iPod Touch, iPod Nano and iPod Shuffle, Apple has put its last model still on the market, the Touch, in the closet. The last copies still available of the headed player remained on sale on the Apple Store online, and this, while supplies lasted.
The models still available sold out very quickly. In just two days, more than half of iPod Touch sold were already sold out. It took almost two more weeks for the entire stock to be sold. It is thus now impossible to obtain an iPod Touch directly from Apple.
But rest assured, some retailers still have a few copies, like Amazon or Fnac. So the time has not yet come when getting a blister-packed iPod Touch is an obstacle course, even if it might come sooner than expected…
