The Universe is filled with big questions. We found proof of that quite recently.

A big question

The James-Webb Telescope recently observed the formation of two young stars, Herbig-Haro 46/47, 1,470 light-years from Earth. But it is a detail having nothing to do with these stars that has caught the attention of several astronomers: a question mark. A form never seen in space which, it is true to say, brings more questions than answers.

It’s not a star

According to Matt Caplan of Illinois State University, it is not a star, which usually appears with eight-pronged refractive tips. It might be the result of the merger of two galaxies. The red color might indicate distant galaxies.

More surprises to come

One thing is certain, this is not the last surprise that the James-Webb telescope has in store for us, which can see galaxies billions of light-years away.
