A statement of the union received by Alsumaria News stated that Al-Lami was hosted by the Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, as “during the meeting, they discussed procedures for facilitating the entry of Arab and foreign journalists to attend the celebrations of the National Day of the Iraqi press, as well as attending the meetings of the General Secretariat and the permanent office of the Union of Arab Journalists, which will be held in Baghdad in mid-June.
They also discussed “facilitating journalists’ access to passports easily and easily, as well as providing the necessary protection and environment for journalistic work.”
Al-Shammari announced, according to the statement, “the ministry’s readiness to cooperate with the Journalists Syndicate in implementing its programs and media activities that serve Iraq.”
For his part, Al-Lami expressed his admiration for the great efforts made by the Ministry of Interior to establish security and stability, appreciating the cooperation announced by the Minister of Interior and his support for the Journalists Syndicate and the press family.
