In this second trial for the crime committed in 2008, another person was also tried as the material author of the events and who has also been declared guilty.
This Tuesday, a popular jury declared the ex-husband guilty of Lucia Garridowhose body was found lifeless in the pool of his property in Alhaurín de la Torre (Málaga), and another accused in connection with the woman’s crime that occurred in 2008.
The jury has found the ex-husband guilty of a crime of murder as a necessary cooperator, understanding that he “consented” to the crime and went on a trip the days before to create an alibi; and the other man for the same crime as autor materialby placing him on the farm after validating his identification through DNA tests from a key found at the scene.
This trial began last October 23 and has gone on for more than two weeks. This past Monday, the judge-president of the jury delivered to the members of the People’s Court the object of the verdict on which they have deliberated until now.
The prosecutor and the private prosecutors, who represent the victim’s relatives, have been maintaining the accusation against the two men for the crime of murder, one as the alleged perpetrator and in the case of the ex-husband as the alleged necessary collaborator.

The first trial, four years ago
This is the second trial being held for the murder of Lucía Garrido; In the first in 2019 the jury declared the defendants not guilty – then there were four of them -. Afterwards, the TSuperior Court of Justice of Andalusia (TSJA) He ordered a new oral hearing to be held for these two defendants and maintained the acquittal of the other two – two civil guards -.
The woman was found in 2008 in the pool of the house where he lived with his daughter and where the ex-couple had lived until two years before.
