The Kremlin has warned the European Union of the consequences in the event of a widespread ban on the entry of Russian citizens into the European bloc.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said in Moscow on Tuesday that Russia will not let such a decision go unnoticed and will protect the interests of its citizens, the TASS news agency quoted the Russian TASS news agency as saying.
“This is a very dangerous decision that could be directed against our citizens,” he added.
Peskov pointed out that the European Union countries, however, adopt different positions, describing what he called “anti-Russian motives” in some capitals, which shows a “complete lack of logic.”
It is noteworthy that there have been discussions for days about whether to prevent Russians from traveling to the European Union for holidays while citizens of Ukraine are dying because of Moscow’s actions.
So far, there is no single European policy. Germany and France oppose a broad entry ban. While countries like the Czech Republic have stopped issuing new travel visas to Russian citizens for some time now.
