Expected on PlayStation 5 on September 2, the remake of The Last of Us is also planned for PC. Speaking of which, it might come out sooner than fans had anticipated.

Announced on the opening night of 2022’s Summer Game Fest, the remake The Last of Us : Part 1 is expected not only in an optimized version on PlayStation 5 but also on PC. If we know that the version will be released on Sony’s latest console on September 2, we don’t know anything about the computer release: no Steam page yet exists for the game. Nevertheless, it’s one of the graphic designers responsible for the environment at Naughty Dog who slightly clarified the release of the title. On Twitter, Jonathan Benainous said this when responding to an enthusiastic fan:
Glad to see you’re enthusiastic. The PC version should be released a little later, but shortly after the PlayStation 5 release!
Hard to know what it means”a bit later” except that we wouldn’t have to wait too long according to Jonathan. Maybe for a release at the end of the year?
The Last of Us: lots of new features for the remake
In any case, it appears that the PS5 version mobilizes the PlayStation and Naughty Dog teams more. Witness the big making-of published last Friday by PlayStation: for more than ten minutes, Neil Druckmann and two of his collaborators talked about the adjustments made for this remake. They talk in particular about the technical specificities of the PS5, a real toolbox that has allowed them to turn dreams into reality: for example, improved object physics allowing better immersion of the player in the title.
In any case, we can always get our hands on The Last of Us PS3 or that remastered version on PlayStation 4 in order to accurately see the changes made by this remake. Regarding the PC version, we will therefore wait for a more precise release date: we can’t wait to see what the gaming community has up to date with regard to mods, a fashionable feature allowing you to “stylize” the characters of a game. This was used for Elden Ring, Sifu and even for Straythe latest star on the market.
