“The Last Session”: A French-Language Open-Air Cinema Experience in Beirut

2023-05-09 21:02:26

“The last session” is the… latest beautiful find of the French Institute of Beirut. On the large lawn of the rue de Damas campus, an open-air cinema offering its guests the opportunity to watch French-language cult films in a setting that exudes conviviality.

The program for these four days will delight film buffs and budding amateurs. A very good way, too, to introduce the youngest to the best in France in terms of cinema. Come and celebrate the kick-off this Thursday, May 11 at 8 p.m. with the unmissable comedy Intouchables by Olivier Nakache and Éric Toledano, with Omar Sy and François Cluzet.

Find La Grande Vadrouille, by Gérard Oury with Louis de Funès and Bourvil, on Friday May 12, still at 8 p.m. If the experience appealed to you, come back next week, same place, same time, for The Artist by Michel Hazanavicius with Jean Dujardin, Thursday May 18, and The Fabulous Destiny of Amélie Poulain by Jean-Pierre Jeunet with Audrey Tautou and Jamel Debbouze, Friday May 19.

Free admission and without reservation. Doors open at 7 p.m. with popcorn, fries and chawarma stalls and, for the parents… a beer tap. Provide plaids to sit on the lawn and a jacket to avoid catching cold.
