Al-Marsad newspaper: The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud – may God protect him – chaired the session held by the Council of Ministers, today, in Riyadh.

Talks between the Kingdom and a number of countries

At the beginning of the session, the Council of Ministers was briefed on the contents of the talks that took place between the Kingdom and a number of countries during the past days, including the message that His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister – may God protect him – received from His Excellency the President of the Republic of Kenya.

Caricom Summit

The Council praised the results achieved by the summit of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), which will have a positive impact in strengthening relations between the two sides at the multilateral and bilateral levels, and expanding the scope of cooperation in various fields, in addition to consolidating joint action in combating climate change and protecting the environment. And support sustainable clean energy initiatives.

The Council of Ministers affirmed that the summits hosted by the Kingdom this year embody the status and appreciation that this country enjoys at the international level, and reflect its keenness to strengthen the bonds of cooperation with brotherly and friendly countries and international blocs, and its pivotal role in achieving security, stability and prosperity in the region and the entire world.

Regional and international developments

His Excellency the Minister of Information, Mr. Salman bin Youssef Al-Dosari, explained in his statement to the Saudi Press Agency after the session that the Council of Ministers followed regional and international developments, especially developments in the situation in the Gaza Strip, reiterating the Kingdom’s demand for the necessity of an immediate ceasefire and the activation of international accountability mechanisms in the face of ongoing violations and brutal practices. And the inhumane crimes committed by the occupation forces against defenseless civilians, health facilities, and relief teams.

The Council of Ministers promised to re-elect the Kingdom as a member of the Executive Council of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) for the period (from 2023 to 2027 AD), in order to enhance its efforts in international cooperation, achieve strategic goals, and its vital role in participatory work.

Developments in the national economy

The Council touched on the most prominent developments in the national economy and what relevant statistics and indicators recorded regarding the inflation rate continuing to slow for the (fifth) month in a row. This reflects the strength of the economy and the effectiveness of the measures and measures taken by the state early on to confront global increases in inflation levels.

The Council of Ministers appreciated the new discoveries made by the Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Saudi Aramco) in the Eastern Region and the Empty Quarter, which will contribute – God willing – to enhancing the reserve of wealth and resources. Decisions

Firstly:

Authorizing His Royal Highness the Minister of Energy – or his representative – to discuss and sign with the Vietnamese side a draft memorandum of understanding between the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam for cooperation in the field of energy.

secondly:

Authorizing His Royal Highness the Minister of Energy – or his representative – to discuss and sign with the Czech side a draft memorandum of understanding in the field of energy between the Ministry of Energy in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Trade and Industry in the Czech Republic.

Third:

Approval of a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Energy in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the OPEC Fund for International Development.

Fourthly:

Approval of a cooperation agreement in the field of the arrival of pilgrims and Umrah pilgrims between the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

Fifth:

Approval of a memorandum of understanding regarding the establishment of the Saudi-Georgian Coordination Council, and its signing by His Highness the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Sixthly:

Approval of a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the cultural field between the Ministry of Culture in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Culture in the State of Qatar.

Seventh:

Approval of a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of tourism between the Ministry of Tourism in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Tourism in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Eighth:

Authorizing His Excellency the Minister of Education – or his representative – to discuss and sign with the Turkish side a draft memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of National Education in the Republic of Turkey for cooperation in the field of public education.

Ninth:

Authorizing His Excellency the Minister of Commerce, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Foreign Trade – or his representative – to discuss and sign with the Maldivian side a draft memorandum of understanding between the General Authority for Foreign Trade in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Economic Development of the Government of the Republic of Maldives in the commercial field.

Tenth:

Approval to extend the implementation of the agreement concluded between the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the government of the French Republic in order to avoid double taxation with regard to taxes on income, inheritance and inheritance, and the protocol attached to it.

Authorizing His Excellency the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Communications, Space and Technology Commission – or his representative – to discuss and sign with the Digital Cooperation Organization a draft memorandum of understanding between the Communications, Space and Technology Commission in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Digital Cooperation Organization, in the field of communications and information technology.

Approval of a memorandum of understanding between the General Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises (Monsha’at) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI).

Creating a program in the budget of the Ministry of Municipal, Rural Affairs and Housing under the name (establishing a center to monitor the performance of operational services and services in cities).

Appointment of Dr. Samar bint Abdullah Al-Qahtani, Dr. Essam bin Abdulaziz Al-Ammar, Dr. Amr bin Munir Al-Shurafa, Engineer Nasser bin Abdullah Al-Wahaibi, and Professor Manal bint Ibrahim Al-Mushrif, as members of the Board of Directors of the Water and Electricity Regulatory Authority, who are specialists and experienced in the fields. Ali bin Abdullah bin Muhammad Al-Anqari was promoted to the position of (Senior Business Advisor), rank (fifteenth), at the Ministry of Interior.

– Fahd bin Othman bin Muhammad Al Mazroua is promoted to the position of (Senior Business Advisor), rank (fifteenth), at the Ministry of the National Guard.

Dr. Ali bin Attiya bin Hamad Al Jaber was promoted to the position of (Senior Business Advisor), rank (fifteenth), at the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing.

Abdul Majeed bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Nafisa was promoted to the position of (legal advisor), rank (fourteenth), at the Ministry of the National Guard.

Atallah bin Aziz bin Hattab Al-Aslami Al-Shammari was promoted to the position of (Business Advisor), rank (fourteenth), in the Hail Region Municipality.

Riyad bin Fayez bin Abdul Rahman Al Yahya Al Shehri was promoted to the position of (Computer Engineering Technology Advisor) at the fourteenth rank at the Ministry of Finance.

– Adel bin Saad bin Abdullah Al-Buri is promoted to the position of (Director of the Minister’s Office), rank (fourteenth), in the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers.

The Council of Ministers also reviewed a number of general topics on its agenda, including annual reports of the General Corporation for Saudi Arabian Airlines, the Institute of Public Administration, the National Institute for Educational Professional Development, the University Higher Education Fund, the Horse Racing Club, and the National Program for the Development of the Technology Sector.
