The delegation that accompanies Joe Biden in Mexico: Secretaries of State, Security and Commerce, among others

Joe Biden, the president of the United States, has not come only to his visit in the context of the North American Leaders Summit. To the hundreds of security elements that have arrived in Mexico City this Sunday are added important members of the president’s government cabinet. In the meetings that will take place in the coming days Antony Blinken, the Secretary of State, Alejandro Mayorkas, the Secretary of Security, Gina Raimondo, the Secretary of Commerce, Jake Sullivan, the National Security Adviser, or Chris Dodd, Special Adviser for the Americas, among others, will be present.

Elias Camhaji writes for EL PAÍS: “The work agenda is marked by six axes: diversity; equity and inclusion; environment and climate change; competitiveness with the rest of the world; migration and development; health, and security. Specific agreements are expected to be announced between the three countries to each of these items, as well as a joint declaration at the end of the meeting”.

On the Mexican side, Marcelo Ebrard, the Secretary of Foreign Relations, Adán Augusto, the Secretary of the Interior, Rosa Icela Rodríguez, the Secretary of Security, or Raquel Buenrostro, the Secretary of Economy, among others, will be present at the bilateral meetings.
