On the program of this episode of WWE Raw post-Night of Champions 2023 live from Albany (New York), the qualifications for the Money In The Bank Ladder Match begin, and new tag team champions are crowned.
Seth Rollins is already making people envious
It’s also a night of celebration for Seth Rollins, crowned the first WWE World Heavyweight Champion during the pay-per-view. The new champion makes his entrance through the public to open this episode and enjoy a nice ovation from the public (and crack his pants passing the barrier, well done). He takes the microphone to tell us that finally, Monday Night Raw has a champion who wants to be there every night and who wants to fight.
He is interrupted by… AJ Styles. Do you remember the Draft? Not sure if this is their case. AJ Styles comes to tell Seth Rollins that he couldn’t resist coming to Raw to congratulate him and tell him that he deserves his title.
The two wrestlers are then interrupted by Judgment Day. Finn Bálor is disgusted to see Rollins and Styles exchanging niceties in the ring. They come to remind like every entry that they run Raw, and after the Bloodline implosion they even run the whole of WWE — So they really don’t remember the Draft. Rhea Ripley explains that one of the Judgment Day members could be the one to take the heavyweight title from her. The mention of Dominik Mysterio made Rollins and Styles laugh a lot.
In the meantime, Finn Bálor and Damian Priest issue a challenge to Seth Rollins and AJ Styles. The world heavyweight champion does not need to be asked and accepts the match for the main event of this episode. The match will be formalized a little later by Adam Pearce.
The first match of this episode is a qualifying match for the MITB Ladder Match masculin. Ricochet confronts the Miz.
Ricochet a battu The Miz by falling with a Shooting Star Press. Ricochet is the first to qualify for the briefcase.
Trish Stratus makes her entrance (in her Saturday outfit). She tells us that the “Thank you Trish” chants, which no one shouted tonight, don’t do anything to her. She is especially there to talk about her victory against Becky Lynch that the latter should live badly as usual.
Stratus tells us that she had nevertheless warned us that she would beat Lynch, and introduces us to Zoey Stark in whom she says she recognizes herself a little, and who thanks her for having trusted her. Stratus then addresses Becky Lynch, telling her that if she was planning on showing up tonight…
And Becky Lynch chose exactly this moment to make her entrance. She also has her Saturday outfit and it’s not so much a coincidence, Lynch notices it and therefore offers to end Saturday’s match. She sends Stark to the ground and then into the barriers of the public before joining the ring to attack Trish Stratus. Unfortunately for her, Stark returns to the charge and Lynch suffers a beating from the two wrestlers.
Indus Sher beat Javier Bernal and a jobber by falling with an elbow and side slam combo.
Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens make their entrance.
